Mandate of ACC
Responsibilities of the Anti-Corruption Commission Include;
Inquire and investigate all allegations of corruption. This includes inquiry and investigation following complaints on allegations of corruption lodged at the Commission or any information of corrupt conduct received by the Commission or any suspicious circumstances that imply corrupt conduct.
Refer to other investigatory bodies investigations lead by the Commission that require further inquiry by such bodies and to refer matters that warrant prosecution to the Prosecutor General.
Conduct surveys and researches on combating corruption and advice on strategies that could be employed to combat corruption.
Educate and create awareness among the public on the evils and the detrimental effects of corruption and promote integrity in the public administration.
Conduct seminars, workshops and other programs to enhance public awareness on the prevention and prohibition of corruption, conduct surveys and researches to further this end and the publication of such surveys and researches.
Disclose information pursuant to the prevention and prohibition of corruption that require public disclosure and publish statements where necessary.
Carry out all functions which are necessary for the execution of the responsibilities of the Commission, and to facilitate pursuit of such functions.
Implement and monitor the Prevention and Prohibition of Corruption Act 2/2000 and formulate and implement all rules necessary for the implementation of the Act.
